Important dates

August 2018

From 1 August 2018 you can apply online for a secondary school place.

If your child attends an Oldham primary school but you live outside Oldham, you must obtain and complete an application from the local authority where you live.

September/October 2018

Open evenings are held for all secondary schools/academies in Oldham.

31 October 2018

31 October 2018 at 5.00pm is the closing date for submitting your application to us.

You will get an instant acknowledgement that your application has been received.

If you do not receive a receipt you must contact the School Admissions Team.

Applications received after the deadline will only be considered once all on-time applications have been processed.

16 November 2018

The last date by which exceptional changes can be made is 16 November 2018.

An example of an "exceptional change" is if you move house after submitting your application.

The School Admissions Team must receive written notice by this date.

1 March 2019

An email will be sent to you on 1 March 2019. 

You can also log back into your account to view the offer made.

If we can’t offer a place at any of the schools/academies you requested, you will be allocated a place at the next nearest school to your home address that still has vacancies.

You will also be advised that your child’s name will be added to the waiting list for each school requested.

Between 1 March 2019 and 19 April 2019

Appeal forms can be downloaded by parents wishing to submit an appeal to the Independent Appeal Panel.

From 2 April 2019

You can contact the school directly to find out where your child is on the waiting list(s).

For Saddleworth School, you can contact the School Admissions Team (Contact and Help).

19 April 2019

Last date for submitting the appeal

From May to 12 July 2019

Appeals will be heard by the Independent Appeal Panel.
